How Would the New Law Affect My Rights?

The Heartbeat Protection Act made changes to abortion access:

  1. The Heartbeat Protection Act restricts abortion access after six weeks. 

  2. If a woman was a victim of rape, incest, or human trafficking, she could have an abortion until her 15th week of pregnancy.

The new law provides additional funding to programs supporting women and families, such as:

  1. Pregnancy support services

  2. Wellness services in pregnancy

  3. Services for postpartum mothers

  4. Family planning and counseling


When Will the Heartbeat Protection Act Take Effect?

Governor DeSantis signed the Heartbeat Protection Act into law on April 13th, 2023.
